Etsy Treasuries

Etsy.com A place where artists can sell their creations online to the entire world without having to ever leave their workshops. You can browse Etsy by several different ways, by searching for jewelry, furniture, clothing, handbags, etc or by listings (just looking through the different pieces people have posted) or by what Etsy calls Treasury Listings. Member created Lists of related pieces. These can be related by colors, by genre, by season anything you can think of. I've seen such treasuries created as lists for teacher gifts for example. What a great one for the end of the school year! The treasuries are a very creative way to shop and quite fun to make. I've created one on ROBOTS! Yes, robots! I believe I've to love them because of my love of technology. They are a cute way to symbolize the up and coming technology being created by the most intelligent minds of today. Oh yes, I used the word "cute"! I adore cute things. I'm a girl and I like things that are attractive, have great color, small and well packaged!
Here's my Etsy Treasury: Just click on the robot below and off you'll go!

Recognizing
Chic Steampunk Jewelry

Lovely indie and vintage inspired jewelry for the everyday woman

I especially like this jewelry because it's simple and not a lot of fuss to it. And too, it's affordable. Who doesn't like that? It reminds me of some of my pieces as well. Mine run the gamut from the simple chic look of Mod Cloth's line to more detail intensive pieces.  But, today's blog  is about Mod Cloth and recognizing their line for their affordability and simple delight of their line. And I like their name! So there we have it. The chosen brand of the day.

Here's a few pieces from Mod Cloth or you can jump on their site and take a look for
yourself.

Bracelets Over Necklaces?

Bracelets Over Necklaces?

Bracelets at Style Me Indie

So it seems, as per surveys most people prefer bracelets over necklaces. Why would this be? Are they less intrusive to wear, do they simply feel better than something like a noose around the neck? Myself, I'm addicted to anything jewelry related, but must say my addiction began with bracelets. I've got a full stash of 'em and wear them til they won't wear anymore. Some I wear everyday and never take off, even in the showers. These are usually very personal to me either given by a friend or family member or have some kind of other symbolic touch to them such as my name or a quote on them I've come to love. Some people like their birthstone, personally I don't. I find it too cliche and I don't like mine anyway. For babies maybe, but adults, just...no!

So since I have so many pieces of jewelry and especially bracelets I turned to look for a unique style. Metal stands out for me and it's long lasting. Steampunk and the Industrial style genres struck me right away. Perhaps you're looking for something different and unique too by now. Here you'll find a look at some of my bracelets. They are simple in style, unique in their own way but also are taken from traditional retro styles such as the charm bracelets. Take a look....see what you think. It's the holiday season, see if you can find a unique gift for a friend or family member who has it all!
